Hi Drearyweather. If only life were that simple. Sadly, for many, they only found out about the negative comments made about them months or years later. I personally have been on "review committees" that review such forms; I've personally seen forms come through with dire character comments - but strangely the grade was "D - Poor", preventing the Service Committee from having to confront the individual. Nevertheless, that data is held on file - regardless of the accuracy.
For clarity about what data is held on the new Publisher ID system, it is significant that S-21 data (name | DOB | baptism | phone | email | service record | "OS/anointed") is going to be held regardless of signed consent. The signed consent if for additional data, such as on this form, to be stored about you.
PS. About the CO or branch responding to negative reports: they don't. In one case, myself and the other brother reviewing the forms were shocked by what one Service Committee wrote about a sister who we knew well. This brother, who was in Special Full Time Service, was so moved that he contacted the CO. The CO said "it's nothing to do with me - it's a local congregation issue". Since all COs are on annual review, they don't want to rock the boat with local bodies of elders; they don't want to get their hands dirty unless absolutely necessary. Sad but true.

Seeing that the local elders are free to write the own personal opinions, and publishers are forbidden access to this data, should a publisher just trust that their local elders will only write positive and accurate things? Are the 3 men making up the Service Committee always impartial and objective - in every congregation? Is it healthy for the subject (the publisher) to be denied access to see what has been written about them, and available to view on the new Publisher ID global JW database?
Here’s some examples of the data that local elders are asked to record:
7. How would you frankly describe the applicant’s background (education, drugs, moral standing, homelife, etc.)?
8. (a) Describe any difficulties you have had with the applicant: ˛
Personal rating of the applicant:
Emotional stability: A - Excellent | B - Good) | C - Average (qualifies) | D - Poor (may not qualify) | E - Does not qualify. [Comments: ]Some posters on this forum are expressing their opinion that such data is not “sensitive”. I think it is, but what are the thoughts of some of you here on this forum?

I can get the forms tomorrow, which on the REVERSE contain sensitive info about the publisher. Surely you too, as secretary, would have sat down with two other elders and evacuated them, scoring their "spirituality"? Did you never do that as secretary?

Hi Listener. I didn't think of that. Even if you don't sign, the secretary will add you name, address, DOB, baptism date, phone/email...AND...if you partake of the emblems.
Will a hygiene change be required for next Memorial? Each known partaker is given a "gift" prior to the Memorial: a miniature wine (with JW logo) and hygienically sealed bread portion. They must take these to the Memorial and partake, saving the KH potential legal obligations and preventing possible insurance claims if someone claims that they contacted an infection from the wine glass.
The wine could even contain Jim Jones special ingredients, to ensure that the number of partakers WILL be lower the following year...

Hi _Morpheus. I'd puzzled by your recent comment - can you elaborate, and answer a few questions?

This sounds really strange to me, so perhaps you could answer these questions:
During your 10 years as secretary, did you never fill in a Regular Pioneer application, a Construction Volunteer application, or a Metropolitan Witnessing application? Did you never process a Letter of Introduction? Did you never fill in an S-77 for reproof/disfellowshipping?
If you filled in any of these - and let's face it, these days many JWs will fill in a application for city witnessing on the carts - then on the back of those forms there is very sensitive info; so sensitive that the publisher is forbidden access to it! 3 elders will write their comments about such things as the music you listen to, your sexual history or inclinations, your mental and emotional health and so on. In the case of a letter of introduction there can be slanderous remarks and outright character assassination. S-77 forms often contain very detailed description of sins, and some are accompanied by letters spanning multiple pages! All of this is stored on (at present) multiple different databases, and the plan is to consolidate into one system.
I personally feel that such data, written about me, would at the very least be sensitive enough for me to have the legal right to read what has been written about me. Watchtower now want publishers to legally revoke their right to access and amend that data.

Hi Morpheus. Having personally experienced the Watchtower lie to me about data I knew they had, and shredded, I can assure you that they are well on the way to 1984 Big Brother. You're absolutely right to highlight CSA - the way they've treated victims and refused to hand over vital evidence is disgusting.
As regards your trade union, bank, and company: don't they provide an honest process for you to be able to access and amend that data? How can possibly compare to this secretive organisation who deny they even hold such data? There's no comparison.
